It’s on! Adding to the visitor and community encounters on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and specifically Eumundi township – extending cultural experiences beyond the renowned markets, Eumundi “Live’ has received Sunshine Coast Council approval.
With local community support, we are organising a new Sunday afternoon community music festival in Eumundi, kicking off 24th November this year. Eumundi ‘Live’ is a family friendly picnic event running from midday to 4.30pm the 4th Sunday each month.
Staged at the town’s amphitheatre, Eumundi ‘Live’ is an all-ages afternoon festival and will comprise 4 acts assembled to reflect the music loving nature of Eumundi and the Sunshine Coast generally. The monthly festivals are being organised by proud locals Anthony and Susa Wynne-Hoelscher, under the auspices of Eumundi Historical Association within its charter for the public and cultural benefit to Eumundi. All profits will go to benefit essential local charities – Sunshine Coast Hospice; Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and Riding for the Disabled. To keep the kids happy while you rock on, there is also a special KidZone to keep them entertained! We’ll also have food and drink outlets plus some cool merch for sale.
Headliners for the inaugural event on November 24th are Melbourne’s ‘New Blues’ Statesmen, The Hello Morning… (“Armed to the teeth with songs elegantly robust and organically haunting, carrying the old guard swoon of acts like The Band and Neil Young, along with the determined swagger of newer blues statesmen My Morning Jacket, The Hello Morning live and breathe their craft.” – NME). The bill is rounded out with quality supports – Brisbane blues rockers, Trojan Horse as well as Sunny Coast faves, the Floating Bridges pumping out their signature funk, rock and reggae. We’re also thrilled to have rounding out the bill, the recent winners of ABC Radio’s Exhumed competition, fabulous bluesmen the Strangest Dreamers.
Coming attractions include The Trouble With Templeton, Red Beard, the John Steel Singers and Mitch Davis and the Dawn Chorus. For more information please contact Anthony Wynne-Hoelscher
