The year is 2012. Childhood mates all from the South East Queensland country town of Gympie came together to start jamming for a bit of fun and to cure the boredom of… well, living in Gympie.
6 months on they had wrote enough songs to do a set and ‘Red Beard’ was born. Not wasting any time the guys travelled to Sydney to lay down their first recording with young producer and friend Sonny Truelove. The sessions they did ended up becoming their debut EP ‘Enigma’.
With stars aligning, even before they had released their first song ‘Fox Tale’ the track had made its way to a friend of Sonny who happened to own an artist management company. The band was signed immediately after the first meeting.
From there on, it was on! Red Beard toured the east coast of Australia a bunch of times, playing alongside acts like The Getaway Plan, Gay Paris and toured New Zealand. They also received radio play on over 30 radio stations around the country and received reviews from Triple J and various other credible media.
They were also asked to be the tour support for US rockers ‘The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ for their 2013 Australian and New Zealand tour and have just released a new single ‘One Love’.
